This loaded tater tots recipe combines crispy potato nuggets with seasoned beef, rich cheese sauce, and zesty toppings for a perfect snack or appetizer.
Ingredients
32 ounces frozen tater tots
1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup water
1 packet taco seasoning
1 cup cheese sauce
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup onion
1 unit jalapeño
Method
Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
Arrange the frozen tater tots on a baking sheet in a single layer.
Bake the tater tots for 24 to 26 minutes, or until they are crispy and golden brown.
In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef for 5 to 7 minutes, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any extra fat.
Mix in water and taco seasoning with the beef, cooking until the mixture thickens, about 2 to 3 minutes.
In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the cheese sauce for 30 seconds, stirring, and continue heating in 15-second bursts until hot.
On a large plate, layer the crispy tater tots, then top with the seasoned beef, drizzling the warm cheese sauce on top. Finish with sour cream, diced onions, and jalapeño slices.
