Ingredients

  • 32 ounces frozen tater tots
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 cup cheese sauce
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup onion
  • 1 unit jalapeño

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. Arrange the frozen tater tots on a baking sheet in a single layer.
  3. Bake the tater tots for 24 to 26 minutes, or until they are crispy and golden brown.
  4. In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef for 5 to 7 minutes, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any extra fat.
  5. Mix in water and taco seasoning with the beef, cooking until the mixture thickens, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  6. In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the cheese sauce for 30 seconds, stirring, and continue heating in 15-second bursts until hot.
  7. On a large plate, layer the crispy tater tots, then top with the seasoned beef, drizzling the warm cheese sauce on top. Finish with sour cream, diced onions, and jalapeño slices.
