Ingredients

  • 1 (16 ounce) package egg noodles
  • ½ cup margarine
  • 1 ½ cups applesauce
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 4 large eggs, large eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ground cinnamon, for dusting

Method

  1. Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large pot, bring lightly salted water to a vigorous boil. Add the egg noodles and cook until they are al dente, approximately 5 minutes. Then, drain the noodles thoroughly.
  3. In a spacious mixing bowl, combine the drained noodles with melted margarine, mixing until well coated. Next, blend in applesauce, sugar, eggs, and a splash of vanilla extract. Pour this mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish and sprinkle with cinnamon for added flavor. Cover the dish with aluminum foil.
  4. Place the covered dish in the oven and bake for 30 minutes. After that, remove the foil and continue to bake for an additional 20 to 30 minutes, or until the top is beautifully golden brown.
