A delightful and flavorful teriyaki glaze that adds a sweet and savory touch to your dishes, perfect for marinades and stir-fries.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup mirin
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tablespoon ginger
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Method

  1. Heat a saucepan over high heat and pour in the mirin, bringing it to a rolling boil.
  2. Once the mirin is bubbling, reduce the heat to medium-low and let it gently simmer for around 10 minutes.
  3. Stir in the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and sugar, mixing well.
  4. Add minced garlic, freshly grated ginger, crushed red pepper flakes, and black pepper to the mixture.
  5. Allow the sauce to simmer for another 5 minutes, letting the flavors meld together.
  6. Take the saucepan off the heat and let the sauce cool before transferring it to an airtight container.
  7. Store the teriyaki glaze in the refrigerator for use in various dishes.
